According to Monitor on April 7th, Ethiopia and Uganda have signed eight historic agreements that not only strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, but also mark an important turning point in the development of their relationship. These agreements cover multiple key areas such as aviation, energy, agriculture, trade, and water resource management. According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 4, 2025, these agreements were signed during the fourth session of the Ethiopia Uganda Joint Ministerial Committee (JMC), which concluded successfully in Addis Ababa on April 4, 2025. The Ugandan delegation was led by General Jej Odongo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, while the Ethiopian delegation was led by Dr. Gaideon Timothy Vos, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the two sides had a productive dialogue. At the opening ceremony, Dr. Timothy Voss welcomed General Odongo and his delegation to Addis Ababa and expressed the joy of the Ethiopian government in hosting the fourth Joint Ministerial Committee meeting. He also stressed that this meeting of the Joint Ministerial Committee will provide a good opportunity to assess and further strengthen cooperation between the two countries, with a view to bringing benefits to the two peoples.
