Chimp Reports reported on the 29th that Uganda has officially released new high-value geological data to attract global investors in the mining and oil industries, positioning itself as one of the most promising energy and mineral development destinations in Africa. Irene Pauline Bateebe, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development of Uganda, stated at the first Uganda China (Liaoning) Mining and Petroleum Investment Promotion Conference that Uganda currently has comprehensive coverage of high-resolution aerogeophysical exploration and extensive geological mapping. Uganda possesses over 40 commercially valuable minerals, including gold, copper, lithium, cobalt, rare earth elements, and graphite. Uganda is integrating its mining industry with the global transition towards clean energy and technological advancements. The country's Strategic National Development Plan IV (2025-2030) lists mining and oil, along with agriculture, tourism, and innovation, as the main drivers of economic growth.
