On September 11th, according to Nigerian media, Sunny Taxman, a businessman from Enugu state, Nigeria, was brutally killed by suspected kidnappers after his family paid a ransom of up to 10 million naira.

Taksman lives in Onicha, Anambra state. Three weeks ago, he was kidnapped in a car by unidentified attackers. According to PUNCH, although the details of the current incident are not yet clear, there are reports that the kidnappers abandoned Taksman's body in a dry drainage ditch near the Nkwelle Uke border in the northern local government area RCC of Idmili, Anambra state. A related video is circulating on social media, in which the body of the businessman can be seen lying in a sewer, and many passersby are gathered around to watch. This tragic incident has sparked anger and deep concern among the public about the safety situation of residents in the area. According to reports, a family member confirmed to reporters that they had paid a ransom of 10 million naira to the kidnappers before discovering Tucker's body. The family member said, "Perhaps because he recognized one of the kidnappers, the kidnappers killed him in order not to reveal his identity. Three weeks ago, he was kidnapped on his way to an event, and the kidnappers demanded ransom. Although the kidnappers later received 10 million naira, they still mercilessly killed him, which is really sad." So far, the Anambra State Police Department has not made any official comment on this unfortunate incident. On Tuesday morning, Sahara Reporters attempted to communicate with headquarters spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga regarding this matter, but was unsuccessful as the other party neither answered the phone nor replied to text message inquiries. Although there have been reports that the spokesperson stated that the police were not aware of this matter, there has been no further official response so far.
